Project Overview

The Matanuska-Susitna Borough (MSB), in coordination with the City of Houston and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), is proposing to reconstruct W. King Arthur Drive from the Parks Highway to N. No Name Hill Drive.
The project includes full roadway reconstruction of W. King Arthur Drive, including:

  • Widened paved surface
  • Upgraded structural section
  • Improved culverts and drainage ditches
  • New signing and striping

The roadway profile will be raised in areas within the floodplain to reduce the potential for overtopping during future flood events. The project will also widen shoulders and reconstruct the roadway to current MSB standards.
W. King Arthur Drive serves as an important east-west connection from the Parks Highway to the rapidly growing Meadow Lakes area.
